Nationals Wait List Now Open
We apologize for the difficulty some of you had with the waiting list - the USPSA server was absolutely hammered at midnight. The waiting list is back up, and a few entries that were processed by our credit card vendor but not posted to the USPSA site have been properly updated (visit your classification record to check if you had a problem, but entered your credit card).

Nationals Wait List
There's been a lot of email traffic recently regarding the wait list and how it will work so we thought a little run down might help.
The wait list will open at midnight, Eastern Standard Time, on Wednesday, March 28th. That's the evening of March 28th, not the 27th. At that time a link will appear in the member's area of the USPSA website at www.uspsa.org/members. Simply click the link anytime after that point and fill out the form to which it takes you. Keep in mind that you'll need the username and password on page one of Front Sight magazine to access the member's area of the website if you've never been there before.
Here are some things to keep in mind about the wait list process:
- You'll have an opportunity to sign up for either or both matches at the same time.
- You will need to have credit card information available in order to pay a $25 per match deposit.
- The deposit will be deducted from the price of your slot should you be offered one.
- If you're not offered a slot the deposit will be refunded to you.
- If you are offered a slot and choose to turn it down, the deposit will not be refunded, so please sign up only if you're really serious about attending the match(es).
- If a slot becomes available we will send you an email and place a notice on your Classification record stating that you are being offered a slot, so it's very important that you check these things regularly after signing up. Your Classification record is the place you go when looking up your classifier details and can be accessed simply by typing in your member number from the front page of uspsa.org.
- If you receive the notification email and/or see the notice on your Classification record you will immediately be able to confirm and pay for the slot on-line by following the link provided on your record. DO NOT DELAY as that notice will disappear after 5 days and then the slot is gone. It cannot be reclaimed. If this happens you will also get a notice stating that your slot offer has expired, so there is no need to call the office to ask, "Was I offered a slot? Did it disappear?" You'll know.
- If you call the office asking your status we will just look at your Classification record, so you have access to all available information on-line that we have.
- It's very important that the contact information you put on the wait list form is accurate. If we can't reach you, you risk forfeiting your slot. Double-check your email address and phone number for typos and transposed numbers, etc. We need a good email address in order to email you regarding slot availability and there are times that we need to contact you regarding your entry on the wait list, credit card problems, etc. Without good contact info, your entry on the list isn't much good.
- If you're contacted with the offer of a slot we can't give you time to "think about it" -- there are a lot of people under you who already know they want to go. If you sign up, that should mean you are serious about attending. If you need time to think it over we will have to move you down the list and hope to come back to you later.
We thank you all for your cooperation and understanding!

Help Wanted
*Update* We have enough staff for the Nationals. Thanks to all who applied. Those who were accepted should be getting information soon. If you applied and weren't accepted, please don't take it personally. We only need so many people. Please apply again next year. The matches can't run without the great help from volunteers like you and we appreciate you offering even if we didn't end up needing you to work.
We are now accepting applications for staff for both National Championships. No prior experience is required, so don't let that stop you from applying.
If you've ever worked a Nationals match before, you'll be getting a personal invite in the mail, but in case you don't want to wait, here 'tis.
All are invited to apply, but due to the limited number of positions, not everyone will be accepted. We'll let you know either way.

The 2006 Limited/Lim10/Revolver Nationals are now over and were a great success! Thanks to all those who came out to compete and especially the match staff and sponsors who helped put it all together. We couldn't have done it without you!
We're busily gearing up for the next match. I've been getting a lot of questions about schedule, so I thought I'd bring this entry back to the top of the page to refresh your memories. Here is the Match schedule

A Note from the RM
Troy McMeanus, RM for both the PASA and TULSA matches, has asked me to post the message below to assist you in your planning for this year's Handgun Nationals:
Stages will be open for inspection by competitors at 0800 on the morning of registration day for both the Limited/L-10/Revolver (9-13-2006) and Open/Production (10-11-2006) Handgun Nationals. Stages will not be open for inspection prior to this time, and the ranges will be closed and marked accordingly. Competitors will be able to inspect the stages, but may not activate or manipulate the props. Some of the staff will be shooting a selection of stages—please stay off the course of fire until they are done shooting. Eye and hearing protection will be required while on the range.Registration will begin at 0900 and end at 1200. All competitors are required to check in or be in line at registration prior to the close, or slots will be voided and awarded to standby competitors. A short shooters meeting will follow close of registration, and competition will begin in the afternoon.
All competitors will shoot on the first day.
Demand for both these matches is very high: standby competitors are not guaranteed an entry into the match. Voided slots will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis to standby competitors. A sign in sheet will be available when the range opens on registration day for both matches.

The Slots have left the building...
Slots left the office HQ today. Please take a minute to read the guidelines in the right sidebar of this website on the proper care and handling of your slot, if you're expecting one. If there's one thing you don't want delayed needlessly, it's the processing of your Nationals slot!
Keep in mind that the deadline for the PASA match (Lim/Lim-10/Rev) is May 12th and the Tulsa match (Open/Prod) is June 9th. Your slot must be back in office by 5 pm that day or it will be voided and reissued to someone on the wait list. If that happens, there's no way to get it back.
So, don't delay!

Call for Stages
USPSA is soliciting original Nationals quality stage designs. Stages should be submitted to Executive Director Dave Thomas by email (dave@uspsa.org), FAX (360-855-0380) or US mail (P.O. Box 811, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284). Pistol, rifle, shotgun, and multi-gun stages are needed. All stages become the property of USPSA and only those stages received by January 15 are eligible to be considered for the 2006 events. The Director of National Range Officers Institute and nationals match directors will determine if and when stages may be used. Stages may be altered as needed. Stage designers whose offerings are selected for use will be identified in the Nationals course book and will receive a plaque to commemorate their contribution.
